    IRS form W-9

    Form W-9 is what is used for non-employee compensation. If you regularly contract labor or specialists, then this form is should be distributed to your sub-contractors if you pay them more than $600 per year.

    Form W-4 is the employee withholding form used to help determine payroll taxes. Give it to all your new employees.

    IRS form I-9

    Form I-9 is a U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services form.  This form confirms that an individual is permitted to accept employment in the United States.  Employers are required to have a completed Form I-9 from all employees hired on or before Nov. 6, 1986.
